Chiropractic Care

At Collingwood Pelvic Health we take a collaborative, movement-based approach to your care, supporting you at all stages of life, from pregnancy and postpartum to menopause and beyond.  Whether you're an active mom-to-be, recovering postpartum, or navigating changes later in life, chiropractic care is designed to help you move and feel your best.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractors ware regulated health professionals who are trained to thoroughly assess and treat issues of the spine and joints.

Our chiropractors believe that all hands-on adjustments should be followed by exercises to help you maintain the improvements in your symptoms and keep you moving towards your goals.

Adjustments can be helpful, but are not a mandatory part of treatment, your chiropractor may instead choose to use acupuncture, massage techniques, trigger point release, or joint mobilization to help improve your symptoms.

Prenatal Care:

Chiropractic care can benefit a wide range of prenatal conditions from tailbone, pubic bone, pelvic and back pain to neck, shoulder and rib issues.  Chiropractic care during pregnancy can not only help alleviate pain and keep you as active as possible but it can be beneficial for preparing your body for birth.

Postpartum Care:

Why See a chiropractor postpartum?  Because postpartum recovery is HARD.  Physically your body goes through drastic changes in physiology and mechanics as you are met with the increased demands of caring for your baby.    Awkward postures, constant holding, rocking, bouncing, slugging car seats and strollers can all create significant challenges on your body  and lead to aches and pains that make postpartum recovery even harder.       Our chiropractor can help alleviate your pain and discomfort,  improve your posture, alignment and movement patterns to make the demands of motherhood feel a little easier and keep you strong and pain-free as those demands constantly change.

Infants and Children:

Chiropractic care for infants and children is a gentle approach tailored to the unique and expanding needs of your baby as they grow.    Common conditions that chiropractic care can address include:

  • Latching difficulties

  • Gas

  • Reflux

  • Constipation

  • Torticollis

  • Tongue Tie

  • General Well-Being

Your chiropractor will assess for range of motion, tension along the fascial chains, primitive reflexes, and an intraoral assessment. Treatment is very gentle, with sustained holding certain pressure points, and gentle stretches.
